Saara — Privacy Policy

Realmaya exists to empower and enable people through technology — in their personal development and leadership. Saara is one expression of that: an app for anyone who wants to build their own personal leadership, available to use by anyone.
Saara stands on its own. It has no connection to the realmaya.com shopping service — no shared account, no shared data — and this policy covers the Saara app only. The website and shopping service are covered by their own separate policy.
Saara is a local-first personal integrity and productivity app, provided by Realmaya ("we", "us"). Your data lives on your device, in an encrypted database.
What stays on your device
Your tasks, events, areas, measurable results, integrity history, notes, and any photos, audio or video you capture are stored locally in a database encrypted with SQLCipher. Health readings and contact details used for task participants are read on-device and are never uploaded by us.
What leaves your device, and only when you choose it
Saara connects directly from your device to services you enable. There is no Realmaya server in between.

Google account access
Saara requests only two scopes — tasks and calendar.events
— so it can create, edit and delete the tasks and events it syncs.
Saara does not request access to Google Drive or your files, and has no
plans to. You can disconnect at any time in Settings, or revoke access at
myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Saara's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. This data is used only to provide the sync features you turn on. It is never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to train any model.
AI features (bring your own key)
AI features are optional and off until you add an API key for a provider you choose (currently Google Gemini or Anthropic). Requests go directly from your device to that provider and are billed to your own account under their terms — we never receive your key or your content. Your key is stored in the device keystore (Android Keystore, or Windows DPAPI on desktop), not in the app's database.
Device permissions
- Notifications & alarms — to remind you about tasks at the times you set.
- Location — only if you enable an arrival reminder for a place. Used on-device to trigger that reminder. Saara does not track or record your location history, and does not use background location.
- Contacts — only if you add participants to a task. Names stay on the device.
- Microphone — only while you are recording a voice note or dictating.
- Camera / photos — only when you attach or capture an image, through the system picker.
- Health data — only if you connect Health Connect, to reflect activity against your goals. Read on-device; never uploaded by us.
Every one of these is optional. Declining a permission disables that feature and nothing else.
Your data is yours
- Export — Settings → Export all my data produces a complete archive of your database and captured media.
- Delete — delete items in the app, use Settings → Reset local data to erase everything held on a device, or uninstall Saara. Because we hold nothing, there is no server-side copy to request.
- Google copies — items Saara synced remain in your Google account until you delete them there (or delete them in Saara while connected, which removes them from Google too).
Children
Saara is designed for adults and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update this page and its "last updated" date, and note the change in the app's release notes.
